The G80 Project of the Faculty of Economics Wins the “Significant Innovation” Award at the Annual “Mark of Quality” Ceremony

At an official ceremony held on 24 November in the “Egg” Hall of Sofia University’s Rectorate, the annual “Mark of Quality” awards were presented by Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski.” This prestigious initiative recognises good practices, innovative solutions, and sustainable achievements that contribute to the development of the University’s quality management system.

This year, the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration received the “Significant Innovation” award for the premiere development and presentation of the interactive installation G80—a unique digital tool created by the artistic collective Fragmentin. The installation was introduced on the initiative of the ESG Lab team at the Faculty.

The award was presented by the Rector of Sofia University, Prof. Dr. Georgi Valkov, to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Marina Stefanova, who stated:

“This recognition affirms that the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration does not simply follow good practices—it sets new standards of quality. The G80 installation reflects our belief that education must be interactive, accessible, and inspiring. I am grateful to our entire team for their professionalism and dedication in turning this idea into reality. I would also like to highlight that all nominees this year presented impressive and valuable achievements that demonstrate the strength and potential of our university community.”

The “Significant Innovation” award underscores the role of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration as a leader in the implementation of contemporary educational and research practices, as well as its ongoing commitment to digitalisation, quality development, and modernisation of the academic environment. The recognition reflects the efforts of the faculty team and reinforces the importance of establishing new standards that enhance Sofia University’s overall quality management system.
